The Costa Blanca
............
meaning the “white coast”, is the tourist trademark for the
province of Alicante, an area situated in the southern portion
of the 3-province Region of Valencia, on the eastern coast of
Spain, facing the blue Mediterranean. It is a world full of
surprising contrasts that captivates visitors thanks to its
scenic diversity and cultural wealth. It extends along more
than two hundred kilometres of coastline, living in perfect
harmony with a mountainous interior dotted with fertile valleys
and luxuriant orchards and market gardens. The array of scenic
attractions and things to do is enough to satisfy the tastes
of everyone visiting Alicante province.
The
variety of the landscape is complemented by an equally ample
choice of cultural attractions, gastronomy, craftsmanship and
festivities to be found throughout the region..
Nobody
would deny that the White Coast is one of the most attractive
destinations in Europe for those seeking to enjoy sunshine and
beaches, keeping at the same time in close contact with nature.
Located on the Spanish Mediterranean coast, it is the touristic
term of reference for the province of Alicante. This is a privileged
land, both for its climate and for its natural surroundings,
combining a coast-line of fine, golden sandy beaches and an
interior noted for the contrast it offers of fertile green valleys
dedicated to agriculture, and gentle mountain slopes dotted
with charming and picturesque Mediterranean villages.
The
virtually year-round presence of the sun, combined with a climate
to be envied, where the average temperature is some 20 degrees,
means that one can swim and practise other types of water sports
at any time of the year. At the same time, beauty spots and
nature parks offer endless possibilities to those who prefer
mountain-walking, horse-riding, cycling or climbing.
Through
the ages, the Iberians, the Carthaginians, the Romans and the
Moors all created thriving communities in this land; several
vestiges of their presence here are to be found throughout the
province.
Archaeological
excavation sites, grand castles, churches carved out of stone,
outstanding civic buildings and a highly developed infrastructure
ready for the new millenium, all offer a multitude of possibilities
for getting to know the rich and varied culture of the region
The
lovely beaches, the beautiful landscape, the carefully tended
environment, the superb climate, the very latest in modern travel
connections, all combined wiht the open and cosmopolitan character
of its people have made the region a privileged place in which
to live, causing it thus to have become a favourite destination
of Northern Europeans who want to create a holiday home.
Having
said all this, allow us to invite you, by way of this web site,
to enter into closer contact with the Mediterranean spirit;
may it serve as an invitation to come and make our acquaintance.
We'll be waiting for you.
On
the shores of the Mediterranean Sea, with 219 km of coastline,
the geography of Alicante province, which is trigged and mountainous
inland has been transformed by the sea into a succession of
marvellous beaches of all shapes and sizes. The variety of
landscapes to be found in this area explains why there are
several very different-looking Nature Parks here. Visitors
